Look no further than central Wisconsin to provide an incredible, new couples cabin getaway for a fun weekend away! Owl Ridge Cabin, located in Wausau, Wisconsin is a brand new rental that offers a nature escape, a steam shower, top of the line appliances and a romantic weekend.

When looking to escape the never-ending winter blues, this cabin will provide you with a sense of peace, calm, relaxation, and the ability to de-stress! My husband and I stayed here for a weekend and enjoyed all the amenities this cabin had to offer.

A Steam Shower to Warm You Up This Winter

First, when pulling up to the cabin, no neighbors are around and you are fully emersed in the woods! Once you enter the cabin, you are greeted with in-floor heat that feels amazing on a cold winters day. The kitchen is stocked with all the cooking essentials, and has state of the art appliances. In the living room, a cozy fireplace, comfortable couch, and TV is available! This is the perfect couples cabin getaway in Wisconsin because everywhere you look you are surrounded by the beautiful outdoors.

The cabin has one master bedroom with moody lights, a king sized bed, wood dresser, and a closet full of pillows! You will not go without a good nights sleep as you can pick any pillow of your liking! Now, my favorite part of the cabin is the extremely large master bathroom. First, the large soaking tub is designed perfectly and will make for a relaxing evening. The tile shower is equipped with a rain head, multiple jets, and a steam shower! Steam showers can increase circulation, provide congestion relief, reduce stiff joints, and leave your skin glowing! Once exiting the shower, you will find plush towels on a heated shower rack! Another perk is the bidet toilet seat that is heated!

I recommend when staying here to bring your own food and do some home cooking in the kitchen! I’ll be honest, I don’t cook, but my husband made some tasty meals on the grill and the stove! We also played some games the cabin provides and snowshoed around the property!

What to do near Wausau in the Winter

If you are looking to adventure out, especially during winter time, I would check out Granite Peak Ski Area! This nearby attraction is packed with down-hill skiing, snowboarding, and has a great chalet to warm up in! Another attraction is Nine Mile Forest Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing! With hundreds of trails, and less that 20 minutes away, this is the perfect place to get some exercise while enjoying the outdoors!

Also, if cooking is not your thing, I would recommend the following nearby restaurants: Van Acre, Tine & Cellar, Timekeeper Distillery, ERA, Wausau Mine Company, or The Loading Zone!
