Brianna and Logan had a stunning Black Tie Wedding at The Whim in Minneapolis this fall! Filled with enormous amounts of natural light and 1920’s industrial beauty, The Whim is a Northeast Minneapolis wedding and event venue that offers a design-ready space! In addition, the never-ending white brick and timber ceilings overhead, allow your imagination to run wild while planning your next event. From the all white floral, to mix-matched bridesmaids dress, and a fun champagne tower, this black tie wedding at The Whim was perfect!

Where it all Started

Brianna and Logan bonded over their love of golf, red wine, and traveling. After meeting 5 years ago on Hinge, the two went on their first date at a brewery and the rest became history! Their wedding day was filled with happiness, fun energy, and lots of emotions shared with the people they love. The couple was thrilled to celebrate their wedding at a stunning wedding venue, The Whim, located in the city where their love story began – Minneapolis.

An Event Space Suited for Your Every Need

Located in the heart of Northeast Minneapolis Arts District, The Whim has over 15,000 square feet of never-ending white brick, timber ceilings overhead, and a vibrant romantic vibe. The Whim features a beautiful patio space to ensure your guests can mingle outdoors, play lawn games, and watch the sunset! There are two on-site getting ready areas to allow for a smooth transition between getting ready and the next events. Personally, as a wedding videographer, I love when all of the events can happen at one location. This allows for a more stress-free day and less travel all parties! The entire venue is inspired by industrial beauty along with European art, making it a perfect space to host your wedding!

The Whim offers multiple event spaces that can be used for your special day! Like I mentioned, the patio is the perfect spot to entertain guests during cocktail hour, complete with trees, and cafe lights! For instance, we also took some bridal party photos/videos out on the patio which turned out beautiful! The stunning 14-foot ceilings are the perfect height to show off a beautiful canopy of lighting, floral, or custom installations to create a beautiful ceremony/reception that guests are sure to remember.

This elegant Midwest wedding venue provides a moody room downstairs that is designed for a top tier luxurious experience. After the ceremony, Brianna and Logan welcomed their immediate family downstairs to celebrate with a champagne tower and a toast! A memory to keep forever as they soaked in that “just married” feeling and shared quality time with family!

The Whim also offers two mixed-use rooms which can be used for cocktail hour, dessert displays, photo booth areas, additional getting ready spaces, or simply a quiet place to retreat. The options are truly endless! With 89 free on-site parking spaces, you’ll have the opportunity to provide your guests with a VIP experience. Lastly, one of my favorite aspects of The Whim is the endless opportunities for indoor photos. No matter the weather, the indoor spaces are beautiful for all your Pinterest photo ideas!
